Latest airplanes demand state-of-the-art inserts

With the arrival of the latest airliners as the A380, A350 , B787 and B747i, it is clear that once more, the standards have been raised for even more interchangeability, quality, reliability and safer operations.

Heavy duty stairs, lightweight design

During construction, the Airbus A380 enters the sky for its first flight. IGB analysed the temporary stairs for Airbus to be able to guarantee a safe Ferry Flight for its personnel.

Blue is the new green

A 2008 KLM airfleet upgrade not only brings further luxury, but also improves environmental performance of the airplanes. IGB assisted with its certification experience.

Structural substantiation of an air cargo container

After the transfer of the certification procedure for air cargo containers to European authorities, it was decided to re-evaluate the cetification process in close cooperation with IGB.

Bucher is “Launch Manufacturer” for new ETSO

IGB assisted the innovative manufacturer Bucher Leichtbau in their efforts to be the first to comply with the new ETSO with their brand new aluminum trolley for Swiss International Air Lines.

Last minute certification

IGB was contracted to participate in a tightly scheduled certification process for a staircase in a Virgin Atlantic Airbus 340-600.

First Class certification

IGB has been working on Airbus A330-200 "First Class" configuration. The structure of the First Class is made of honeycomb panels and accommodates a folding table, footrest, sliding personal wall and several other compartments. The design includes provisions for TFT video screens, in-flight entertainment and electrical seat controllers.

Tried & tested for rugged environments

IGB has done the complete certification for an "Equipped Galley" on a C27-J military transport aircraft. The galley and equipment had to comply with the environmental requirements according to RTCA DO160D C2 category. This means that the unit has to comply with an operational temperature range of -55°C to +70°C degrees centigrade.

One partner, one standard

One of the leading galley manufacturers in the US was awarded with the contract to design and build all large interior monuments on Airbus's A340-500 (first class lounge, galley's and stowages) with very high standards regarding design and finish as well as overall project management.

VCC: Product of cooperation

This VCC is a product of a liaison between the manufacturer of the electronic equipment and the manufacturer of the VCC-housing. The determination of the interface loads and the prove of the structural strength was a liaison between the manufacturer of the VCC-housing and IGB.

Setting new standards

With deliveries started in 2009, Air France became the first A380 European operator. The new airliner boost the airline’s capacity as well as setting new standards for customer in terms of space, comfort and silence.

Fire Properties: too hot to handle?

Fire Properties substantiation has gradually become more stringent over the years. The addition of the flame propagation requirements illustrates that “safety first” still applies in the aerospace industry.

Windmilling: extending a Dutch tradition

The FAA and JAA requirements for Sustained Engine Imbalance (SEI) became applicable for Airbus with the introduction of the A340-500/-600 series aircraft.

Handrails you can hold on to

Despite the latest set-backs for the A380 first delivery, now scheduled in October 2007, the preparations for the production continue.
